Through the Nome center, Gregory and Kimberly took part in a wide range of life-saving and life-enriching efforts among persons of high need. They had particular responsibilities in programs at the Boys and Girls Club and Senior Center. The Boys and Girls Club provides a safe and supportive environment for children through a variety of programs and activities. Global Mission Fellows in the US may move through a spectrum of ministries in the course of their two years.

Chelsea’s work place wase the NOAH Project of Central United Methodist Church and its Community Development Corporation in the northern part of Detroit. NOAH works with homeless men, women, and children with the goal of building a supportive, motivating environment where individuals can grow and act out positive life changes. She specifically relates to the Bag Lunch Program, lunch being only the first step toward entrance into a supportive environment. Meals together—lunch is provided Monday through Thursday—lead to case worker relationships. Global Mission Fellows in the US may move through a spectrum of ministries in the course of their two years. 


Andrew B. KastnerDrew and Caitlin R. Kastner

Place of Assignment: First United Methodist Church of Miami
Location: Florida
Home Country: USA

From 2015-2017, Drew served as outreach and advocacy coordinator of the homeless ministry of the First United Methodist Church of Miami, located downtown. He worked with students and other volunteers who are essential to the ministry and takes part in a wide range of corollary activities and services.

Caitlin R. Kastner
Place of Assignment: South Florida Justice for Our Neighbors (SFJFON)
Location: Florida

From 2015-2017, Caitlin served as a clinic and intake coordinator with the South Florida Justice for Our Neighbors (SFJFON), operated by the South East District of the conference and related to South Florida Urban Ministries. National JFON is a network of ministries that provide support, advocacy, and immigration legal services through church-based clinics staffed by attorneys and volunteers. Caitlin worked primarily as a clinic coordinator, and she also was involved in community relations.

Location: Pennsylvania

Rachel’s work sites include Serenity House, a holistic healing ministry affiliated with Arch Street United Methodist Church. Global Mission Fellows in the US may move through a spectrum of ministries in the course of their two years and Rachel may work at additional sites within the Central District or other areas of the annual conference.
